Abstracts & Proposals
Call for Abstracts – LEPH2026
We invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and community leaders to submit abstracts for the 8th International Conference on Law Enforcement & Public Health (LEPH2026), to be held in Leeds, UK from 6-9 September 2026.
LEPH2026 will provide an unparalleled opportunity to showcase world-leading research and inventive practice to a global audience of law enforcement and public health experts. Abstracts should address innovative research, policy development, or practice-based initiatives that contribute to safer, healthier communities and relate to the conference’s themes.
As with previous LEPH conferences, this event will include both Panel sessions and Marketplace of Ideas sessions. Panels may include both research-based and practice-based presentations, grouped together around a common theme. Marketplace of Ideas sessions will include primarily practice-based contributions to share ideas for tackling challenging problems in a practice, rather than research, setting.
Timetable
- Deadline for abstract submissions: 16 March 2026
- Decisions on abstract acceptance: Early May 2026
- Early bird conference booking deadline: 31 May 2026
We encourage all attendees to book as soon as possible after abstract decisions, both to take advantage of our early bird discount, and to ensure they can access conference accommodation at the pre-agreed rates. Reserved rooms will start to be released by hotels in early June, so we cannot guarantee availability and rates after this point.
Submit a Session Convenor abstract
If you would like to convene a panel, workshop or roundtable, i.e. a session with multiple presentations grouped around a theme, please complete the Session Convenor abstract form below. This may be a Panel (research or research + policy/practice focus) or a Marketplace of Ideas session (practice focus).
You will be asked to include an overview of your proposed session as well as details of individual presenters. After you click ‘submit’, you will be prompted to add email addresses of individual presenters; they will then be invited to submit their individual abstracts and attach them to your Session Convenor submission.
We recommend 3-4 presenters, along with a Chair or Facilitator for Panels, and 2-3 presenters, along with a Chair or Facilitator for Marketplace of Ideas sessions. This is to allow enough time for presentations and questions.
If the Convenor is not the Chair for the proposed session, you have the option to include a second person in the Convenor/Chair field, who will act as Chair. Please note however that only one Convenor per accepted Convened Session submission will be entitled to the discounted Session Convenor conference delegate fee.
Submit an individual abstract
To submit an abstract for an individual presentation or paper, please complete the individual abstract form below. Please note that all presentations are to be oral, this includes e.g. PowerPoint presentations, use of video/animations, and use of audio. There will be no poster presentations. You will be asked whether you prefer to present as part of a Panel or a Marketplace of Ideas session. As noted above:
- Panels may include both research-based and practice-based presentations grouped around a common theme.
- Marketplace of Ideas sessions focus on practice-based contributions, offering innovative approaches to real-world challenges.
If you are responding to an invitation to join a convened session, please indicate this in the form when prompted and attach your abstract to the relevant panel (you will automatically be asked to do this once you submit your abstract via your invitation link).
Please note, decisions on programme structure will ultimately sit with the conference programme committee and director.
